I watch your show every morning. and I would see the national average of gas is between 2.47 & 2.55 . But calif. gas is almost 3.20 " WHY " Thats .65 cent's differnts. Are we getting " SCRE**D ?

When I had an accelerator stuck, I put the car into NEUTRAL. I pulled off to the shoulder and then fixed the problem. Yes this can be a problem if the driver panics but so can a myriand of other situations.

Brian, You may not be aware, but Ford had a recall like this back in the late 90's. I actually had a near miss due to this same issue. I was driving a '97 F-150 and pressed the accelerator to the floor when I was off-roading one night and the metal bracket on the pedal embedded itself in the plastic floor mat. Luckily I was bogged down in 2 feet of mud at the time, so I was able to reach down and pry the pedal up. After that I moved the floor mat out from under the pedal and....problem solved. I drove that truck, with the same floor mats for another 2 years without incident. So just to let you know, this could cause a serious accident if it caught you off guard and you panicked.
