I agree with you Mover. The Volt seems great but GM was too slow to produce this. Ford already has a nice hybrid SUV called the Escape. To me Ford seems to be more green than any other US company. I think Ford is on the verge of a turn around being that they did not take any federal money. I hope they do it because Ford is very American and has alot of history. Maybe GM will turn it around but it does not look good. I think we should allow GM to fail and reorganize into a stronger company later. If they have to sell 12 million cars just to break even that means trouble for them. The car companies need to really try to come out with cars that the American people want and produce them faster than they are doing now.

The volt is something the GM thinks will or is saying will save them. Even if the car has Prius like sales it will do little to help GM's financial troubles. Additionally the Chinese already have a car that does what GM hopes the volt will do and Fisker (us based company) is releasing a electric plug in this year that you would die for....it looks like a 4 door sports car and has sports car numbers with electric plug in. I think the Volt will provide the "green cover" for the administration to dump tons of money into the GM black hole.
