Life In Perspective: My Best Friend's Battle With Cancer

I try to keep this blog strictly to work related topics.   Personal life is one thing, work another.  But I feel compelled to relay the story of my best friend and ask you to keep him in your thoughts. Many of you may have seen the Fox Business segment "My Hometown" where I traveled to Winchester, Virginia and reported on local stories.   One of those segments introduced you to my best ... read more

Grading The Stimulus Advisory Board: Some Good Picks, Some Bad Picks and Some Clear Conflicts

President Obama named the members of the Economic Recovery Advisory Board charged to oversee the $925 billion dollar spending package (interesting that the board was named even before the measure has passed Congress).   The list contains some known names, some new ones, some good picks and a few that are riddled with conflicts.   It also includes a few that gave or helped raise hundreds of ... read more

More In The U.S. Airways Hudson River Landing To Admire

These days there is much more negative news than positive.   It's why you should all take a listen to the audio recordings between the U.S. Airways flight that landed in the Hudson river and the LaGuardia and Teterboro airport towers. The captain and crew acted heroically, but I also think a mention should go to the tower personnel.   The audio shows how quickly they reacted to the ... read more

"Don't Reward Failure?" Then Fire Those In The SEC & Congress Who Failed To Do Their Jobs

The President doesn't want to "reward failure" at banks who need to be bailed out by taxpayers and who take taxpayer money by capping executive compensation at those banks going forward. Fine.  No doubt most in America would agree with that move (even though it will make it nearly impossible to find anyone who would want to take these jobs, now some of the most important in ... read more

London: A Naval Mystery Solved, Big Snow & Small Cars

I hope that everyone enjoyed the segment on Odyssey Marine Exploration and its significant historical find of the HMS Victory.   It was a fun story to tell that solves a 250+ year old British naval mystery.   We will have to wait and see if Odyssey ends up finding any gold on the wreck.   So far they are keeping mum, though remember they would have to share a portion of it with the British ... read more
