Ouch! The right side of my face hurts like hell! The wheel has been thrown so far to the left that my face has been smashed up against the right passenger window, along with everyone else's. We are all passengers now on a bus that has taken a massive left turn. Obama's driving but we're paying. This is gonna hurt. Who's looking out for the cliff?

Quote from Housing Bubble Blog "Another thought for today, or, Why Socialism Doesn’t Work: “You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

as a canadian watching the obombanatics fiasco it amazes me that the media still spins everything in favor of this mony python circus. in canada in the 70,s, ontario was the most properous province in canada, then new democrates got elected for the first time. they had the exact platform of obama, tax the rich, enact exorbent social programmes, after 2 years they were astonished that there was no money and ontario was near bankrupt. what they did not realize was that anyone making over 200,000 has an advisor and tax accountants who found all kinds of legal loopholes to counter the tax increases. after realizing this the only one they could tax was the middle class lunch bucket worker who lives pay check to paycheck and who has no money nor no place to hide his money through tax shelters. so thier only option was to hit them.on thier paycheck, increase taxes on gas ,licenses, property taxes ,anything and all. they were thrown out of power the next election. usa beware

They are trying to produce capital with a printing press. Ron Paul just scolded Bernankee live on CNBC about that very thing. You can't create money out of thin air and call it "savings"... it's counterfeit - there's nothing backing it. Real capital comes from producing and saving. The nation is being run by idiots.

I don't know that anyone made much of Mr. and Mrs. Howl's money on Gilligan's Island. Just replace Giligan's Island with the planet - same frustrations with the other characters. And just why didn't the professor ever make a movie on Ginger ?

I was watching the obama address the other night and was wondering if anyone can give me the squats exercise our second in line does to enable her to jump every time an "er" came out. Just a thought. Sorry folks. They are in and we are out, in many more ways than one. Circle the wagons and hide the women and children.

I would love to see Obama removed from office. But how? Well, ask him for his birth certificate! He has STILL not proven he is an American citizen. This case is just buried in a drawer of some Supreme Court justice. No one knows where this man was born, yet Kenya claims him as a citizen and has erected a large statue of him. So much for the Constitution. Oh and heed my words folks. He is already messing with the amount of interest one can deduct for a mortgage, based on income. What's next? The $250,000 single /$500,000 married exclusion on the sale a principal residence. There is no way he is gonna let that one go.

could his budget, imaginitive as it is, send this country in chapter 11? Listen even Donald Trump came out this morning expressing the fact that the president is doing the wrong thing in a downturn economy.

You mention the percentage of taxes vs the percentage of REPORTED income. Would that be gross income? Or would that be adjusted income after lawyer upon lawyer has scoured the tax code with special breaks, turning $2 million into $500,000. I am sorry, but I do NOT trust the income reporting unless it is based on GROSS income with all of the special tax breaks and the loopholes created specifically for wealthy people. I like fairtax for precisely the reason that in my opinion the wealthy will end up paying more. This of course is provided that loopholes aren't made (bought?) by the wealthy to continue to screw the middle class. How about we look at streamlining the government and then start talking about who is paying the taxes. You know what, if people making $2 million a year want to retire early to quit paying taxes, that's fine with me. Something tells me that 20 people making $100,000 per year can probably make up the productivity in our economy. (Yes, that's right. 20 people at $100,000 per year. All for one low to medium priced CEO. Think about that when you see what Rick Wagoner is making in US tax dollars.)

I wish the messiah would just keep his mouth shut! Look at what the markets have done since America voted in this solialist dictator. I got an email the other day that needs to be sent to every Kool-Aid drinker out there..... OBAMA = One Big A$$ Mistake America! I just hope people come to their senses by the next election... if it's not too late!

I for one will be attending the "tea party". Maybe it is time to discuss a "RECALL" election on some representitives both in the House and Senate. If nothing else; it will keep them busy and OUT of Washington. Let's not wait for another year and a half to be able to do anything about this insane mess. We need to restore some Check and Balance to all this "stuff" happening.

The American people (I didn't vote for the guy) have made a colossal mistake in electing this Carter retread. The damage that will be done to every facet of our country, from national defense to the economy to the quality of healthcare, will be catastrophic and very painful to endure. It's very difficult to remain optimistic about our ability to recover from the mistake made last November.

I cringe every time Obama opens his mouth. Am I the only one who thinks every single speech sounds like the one before it? Is the entire country drinking Koolaid? We should all just mail millions of teabags directly to the white house.

obama is not interested in paying for anything...its a typical liberal move.. put a entitlement in place, and there is no way that the govt will ever cut it.

I thought Mayor Bloomberg's comment last week was a real eye opener for this debate. 40,000 New Yorkers pay 50% of the taxes for 8 million New Yorkers. What could happen to New York, after he dramatically raises taxes, and the 40,000 decide, "Hey, Boston is a nice town too." Grandpa used to say - "Rewarding success breeds success. Punishing success, breeds disaster." What part of this, have we not learned.

This one always floors me whenever I think about it. When clinton supposedly closed all those gov offices in his first term to quote save money and make gov more efficent My small town had three govt offices FHA FSA and soil conservation. My wife works for FSA and according to the goverment figures they closed 2 offices. What they didnt say was that they just moved all three into one new facility and are now paying twice the rent they were for all thee buildings. They dont consider it lying if they just dont tell the whole truth. So this is the change that so many people wanted, well by god their getting their change. If they are going to use tricks and scams to get more votes (acorn for one example) as much as I hate to play dirty we had better start some of our tricks to be on an even playing field. I am not saying all dems are idiots but boy they sure seem to have the majority of them. And the gop, well their quickly appproching no brain status also.

Thanks for your comments. They are also being discussed at Free Republic http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2194830/... .

The majority of Americans who voted in 2008 voted for this increase in government and the punishing of the rich, knowingly or unknowlingly. Only when a majority of that majority have lost their jobs and realize they are living in a country run by those who want the Utopia of the current European socialism, will we see a return to the true conservatism espoused by Reagan and squandered by the current Republican party.

Flat rate for all is the way to go. That way everyone has a stake in the system and will more aware of the spending of their money.

This is out of control...please people we must show how we feel....in many cities around the US there are "tea partys" going on Friday (as in Boston Tea party no taxation with representation).

Obama is such a fabulist, just wait till you see his budget.

Eye opening info. I'm glad you're getting this out there and educating people with FACTS. But I am so discouraged, angry, bitter, and frustrated because I feel like we are being lied to (every day) and I'm insulted that "that man" thinks the majority of Americans are just plain stupid. Well, maybe we are....the majority voted for him. I want to scream to my family and friends "I TOLD YOU SO!" Sigh.
edgar
We the American people in most part are not as stupid as our leaders would like for us to be. Good information but right now people not thinking clearly. However just wait we are slowly waking up.
