Interesting item. I had been wondering just Who this individual was. Actually I don't blame him. The issue is so confusing with so many passionate, totally diverse opinions. Frankly I don't know what to make of it either! RH

Jerry Weller did the right thing....he listen to the people who elected him. All the lobby groups are for the bailout as they reprensent big business interests including insurance companies. This bail out is a FWMD.

Actually Brian, the folks in Bloomington and Kankakee, Illinois should be asking why their Congressman didn’t vote AGAINST the bailout bill.

This is a perfect example of creating districts for specific outcomes. Howcome districts are never square?

This is off the subject but could someone tell me what Darrell Issa was referring to during an interview on Fox Business yesterday afternoon when he said something about laws passed in 1980 which gave the Treasury the authority to buy this bad debt and why didn't Paulson use those tools before going after 700 billion??
Gary Collins
Could he have just voted present?

This reporter should read fox's own poll. 72% of respondents note that they understand the bill perfectly well and do not want it to pass. The Congressman should be asked why he didn't vote against the bill.

It seems the only one congressman was wise enough to see that a rush to judgment is the wrong way to go. A yes or a no vote sends the wrong message. congratulations. Bill

I strongly feel that if an elected official does not vote, then he or she is not fulfilling his or her job requirements, and therefore should not be paid. Abstaining is not an option unless you do not want a pay check. Are you listening Obama???

Someone needs to ask him how he would have voted if he were seeking re-election. Is a a republican or a Democrat? Also I wonder if he will vote on the next bill they come up with? Is he still drawing a check from the tax payers, looks like he could do the job we are paying him to do.

His obligation was to vote.....PERIOD If he is such an ass and refused to do so.........then those that voted him to office (or more likly didn't) are to blame. You and he are the real problem. The only one who did not vote, what a worthless piece of dirt.
Dana Swan
a spineless and worthless Politician that only cares about themself and not their constituants............ sound rather familiar, unfortunately The new mantra of the USA voter......... NO INCUMBANTS!!!

I'm going to give Brian the benefit of the doubt and assume that he meant "The folks in Bloomington and Kankakee, Illinois should be asking why their Congressman didn’t vote ON the bailout bill."
